Donna Sargent, a Richmond resident for 31 years, has spent almost a quarter of her life as a member of the Richmond School Board. During her tenure she has chaired many Committees including the Personnel and Finance Committee and the Richmond Substance Abuse Task Force.
Ms. Sargent believes that investment in public education is essential to guarantee broadly educated leaders for the future.
As a member the Board of the Maples Residences Ms. Sargent will work toward realizing her wish to increase meetings between school aged children and seniors. “I think it would be very beneficial for some of our students to have the opportunity to feel comfortable with seniors. When we have been able to integrate the two age groups, the seniors seem to reciprocate and really enjoy the students”.
“Being a member of the Richmond School Board dealing with young people I have learned that sincere interest in the job at hand and willingness to understand various hopes and expectations of young people are necessary and as a Board Member of the Maples I take the same interest in our seniors and the things of importance in their lives”.
