As the governing body of a nonprofit, the Board of Directors fulfills a variety of roles and responsibilities. Among its many duties, the Board: Oversees the financial operations of the organization.

Board member, Dr. Peter German may not have “done it all” but he has done a lot of it. A new Board member this year, Peter spent 31 years with the R.C.M.P. retiring as Deputy Commissioner for Western and Northern Canada.

Jason Snyder


Jason has lived in Richmond/Steveston for over 25 years. As Treasurer since June of 2016, Jason brings his expertise in finance to this position. Richmond Community Foundation and Member President of Quilchena Golf and Country Club are his other volunteer positions.

Martin Younis

Board member Martin Younis is proud to call Richmond home. A new board member this year, his dedication to the community embodies the Maples Residences commitment to the Seniors who live here. Martin is a great Ambassador to the needs and functions of facilities operations with over 20 years of experience in the building industry.

Andrew Tong

Andrew Tong is a grade 12 student attending McMath Secondary and has been on the Maple Residences board for 8 months. His expertise and passion lies with technology, which is where he expects the majority of his contributions to be sourced from.


Donna Sargent

Donna Sargent, a Richmond resident for 31 years, has spent almost a quarter of her life as a member of the Richmond School Board. As a member the Board of the Maples Residences Ms. Sargent will work toward realizing her wish to increase meetings between school aged children and seniors.
