On September 8th, we celebrated our 10th Anniversary of the Maple Residences!
Invitations were sent out to our Residents, Board of directors, Councillors and diginitaries in the community.
General Manager, Rob Pretli welcomed everyone to the 10th Anniversary party, noting how fortunate we were to have 10 Residents still living with us 10 years after we opened. Rob thanked the Residents and Staff for making The Maples a great place to live.
Dave Semple – Board Chair – welcomed everyone and gave an overview of the Board’s role at The Maples.
Irene, one of our first Residents, spoke about her move into the Maples and how she is so happy she made the right choice as the Maples was “just right” for her.
Charlotte and Bill, new Residents, also told their story as new people moving in and how everyone -Residents and Staff – were so friendly and kind. Bill S. gave his impression of his experience moving into the Maples, saying how very happy he and his wife are with the move they made.
Harpist Helen Siemens entertained the crowd with her lovely music.
Ten of our original Residents who moved in 10 years ago were all honoured with a bouquet of flowers and a certificate commemorating their 10 years at The Maples and a big round of applause.

After the speeches were over, there was a lot of movement around the room as our residents surprised everyone with their Flash Mob dance, showing off their expertise with their dancing. Lots of clapping, cheers and laughter from the audience from this impromptu presentation.
